That ten-year hiatus from real estate saw Gil and his wife create two leading SF Japanese restaurants, the second of which, Nombe, was an SF Chronicle Top 100 restaurant and was named a Top 6 national restaurant in its category (Japanese small plates pubs, or izakaya). Though the restaurants have been sold, Nombe remains a popular provider of Japanese cooking classes and catering, including a street food operation that continues to sell Nombe's nationally known original product, the Nombe Ramenburger. Gil and his wife have lived in SF's Bernal Heights neighborhood for nearly 20 years, so he has a homeowner's perspective and knowledge to help assist clients through the purchase or sale of their home and beyond.
