Ruthie Jones Installed as President for Humboldt Association of REALTORS®
Ruthie Jones, of Corcoran Icon Properties in Humboldt County, was just installed as President of the Humboldt Association of REALTORS®. The 2024 Installation of Officers Black Tie Affair was held at Bear River Resort & Casino in Loleta.
Humboldt Association of REALTORS® (HAR) has an association membership of more than 455 REALTORS® and 95 affiliate members. Its mission is to provide services and programs to assist its members in successfully succeeding in the business and achieving the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. They pride themselves on being advocates for private property rights and encourage community involvement.
Jones has received several prestigious awards throughout her career, highlighting her unwavering dedication to client satisfaction. These awards include the 2022 Real Estate Icon Top Producer for 2022, the 2018 Rookie of the Year award, 2018 Rising Star Award, and she perpetually retains a high rating as an agent.

Hannah Tai Receives 2023 Good Neighbor Award from Marin Association of Realtors
Hannah Tai, an agent with Corcoran Icon Properties Greenbrae office, received the 2023 Good Neighbor Award presented by the Marin Association of REALTORS® at their annual Installation and Awards Luncheon held at The Spinnaker in Sausalito. More than 175 real estate professionals and affiliates gathered at this event to celebrate the award winners and welcome the new board for 2024.
Nominees for the Good Neighbor Award are individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment through volunteer work for 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations. Eligible activities extend beyond real estate or housing issues encompassing a diverse range of activities, including volunteer work conducted internationally.
Tai was honored with the 2023 Good Neighbor Award in recognition of her contributions to Cake4Kids. The mission of Cake4Kids is s to provide free, custom homemade birthday cakes to children at risk, unhoused, or otherwise underserved circumstances. Cake4Kids relies on dedicated volunteers who donate ingredients to bake customized cakes for youth at their homes. These cakes are then delivered to partner agencies supporting the youth, and volunteers have the flexibility to choose their commitment level. As a former pastry chef, Tai devotes her time outside of real estate to baking, having created and donated more than 30 cakes over the last few years.
“When you have a skill, being able to use that skill in a way that makes a difference is heartwarming,” said Tai. “It makes you feel really good to know that you’ve done something that makes someone else feel great!”
Beyond her involvement with Cake4Kids, Tai is deeply committed to philanthropy. In addition to donating her skills to support charities, Tai also donates a percentage of her commission after each closing to various charities including Cake4Kids, Marin Grateful Gatherings, and The Gentle Barn.

Chris Backer Is Named 2023 REALTOR® of the Year by Marin Association of Realtors
Corcoran Icon Properties is pleased to announce Chris Backer as the 2023 REALTOR® of the Year by the Marin Association of Realtors. The Marin Association of Realtors announced the winners at their recent Installation and Awards Luncheon held at The Spinnaker in Sausalito. Over 175 real estate professionals and affiliates attended this event to honor the accomplishments of the award winners and usher in the new board for 2024.
Backer served as the Marin REALTORS® President for nearly two years, stepping in unexpectedly in 2019. In his initial year, he navigated the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic and successfully led the association and its members. More recently, he took on the position of the 2022 C.A.R. Region 4 chair and served on the 2023 C.A.R. Executive Committee. His extensive involvement also includes roles as a C.A.R. Director, Vice Chair of the C.A.R. Local Government Policy Committee, Chair of the 2023 and 2024 Marin REALTORS® Local Candidate Recommendation committee, and is an active participant in the Government Affairs and Budget & Finance committees at the local level.
“I’m really just in awe at being selected to follow in the footsteps of such a select group of real estate professionals that I aspire to be like and whom I’ve looked up to over the years. The Greenbrae Picnic, an annual tradition, featured an array of attractions that drew in a record-breaking crowd. Among the highlights were the culinary delights of Tommy Salsa, captivating face-painting sessions, an exhilarating jumpy castle for the kids, and a series of entertaining Shafer Games. Corcoran Icon Properties, an independently owned and operated affiliate of Corcoran Group, LLC, is delighted to announce the opening of two new locations in Marin County – San Anselmo and Novato. These expansions indicate the healthy real estate market in Marin and Corcoran Icon Properties’ position in that market.
The San Anselmo office is located at 222 Sir Frances Drake Boulevard, near the bustling intersection of Red Hill Avenue, just 14 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. In the heart of this quaint town, restaurants, bakeries, and boutiques are nearby, and the climate is mild year-round. San Anselmo is also well known for its Art and Wine Festival and summertime film nights in the park.

Corcoran Icon Properties’ Tom Hunt Receives Rising Star Award from California Association of REALTORS®
Corcoran Icon Properties was recently notified that Thomas Hunt has been selected to receive the prestigious Rising Star Award from the California Association of REALTORS®. Across the state, up to 10 agents receive this award, which was presented at the C.A.R. REimagine! Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The Rising Star Awards program is a C.A.R. initiative designed to work in partnership with the brokerage community to recognize up-and-coming agents. The Rising Star Awards highlight elite, new talent entering the industry and help boost their growing careers while promoting both the REALTOR® and their firm.
“We were absolutely blown away by the accomplishments of our nominees, the stories that were shared, and your glowing recommendation,” according to the notification received by Corcoran Icon Properties from C.A.R. “I am pleased to inform you that your agent, Thomas, has been selected to receive this award – one of a handful of recipients statewide. Congratulations!”
Requirements for nominees for the Rising Star award include: 1) be an active C.A.R. member who joined the association in 2021 or later; 2) closed at least twelve transactions or $5.0 million in transaction volume between January 1 and December 31, 2022; 3) nominated by the broker or principal of the brokerage; and 4) no restrictions on DRE license and no Code of Ethics violations.

Michael Barnacle Elected to San Francisco Association of REALTOR® Board of Directors
Michael Barnacle, Managing Broker and Partner at Corcoran Icon Properties has been elected to the San Francisco Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors for the term commencing January 1, 2024, along with three other REALTOR® members. Directors’ elections are held annually to replace outgoing directors completing their terms of office.
Barnacle has a strong background in residential and commercial real estate markets, working for brokerages in Boston and Rhode Island before relocating to San Francisco in 2012. In San Francisco, he quickly became a top producer and Top Agent Network member, subsequently taking on his current leadership role at the company in 2015. His expertise in the business has made him a valuable mentor to agents at all experience levels, with many satisfied clients and successful agent teams to his credit.
He is and has been actively involved in the real estate community, serving on the Board of the California Association of REALTORS®, the Board, Executive Committee, and Budget & Finance Committees of the San Francisco Association of REALTORS®, and as a Board Member of the San Francisco Women’s Council of REALTORS®. Michael has been involved in many community organizations outside of work, including serving as the Past President of the United Irish Cultural Center of San Francisco.

Held on June 25th, 2023, the concert successfully raised funds for BAGO’s outreach projects.
