Welcome to Union City

Union City is conveniently situated between San Francisco and San Jose. Founded in 1959, the city combined the communities of Alvarado, New Haven, and Decoto, choosing the name Union City, as the settlement was originally named, dating back to 1854.

Union Landing is a 100-acre destination retail and entertainment center replete with a 25-screen theater, an indoor skydiving venue, and prolific dining and shopping opportunities. The complex is still growing and is one of the hottest spots in town.

Union City also boasts a very dynamic Leisure Services department, committed to providing a vast array of activities for all ages and every lifestyle. Swimming pools, dog parks, tennis courts, skate parks, and more can easily be found here and are highly utilized by residents. The new Sports Center offers fitness opportunities for the beginner and the committed buff.

The year-round Farmers Market is a favorite spot for enjoying fresh produce as well as socializing with residents and visitors, thanks to Union City’s mild winter climate.

There’s plenty to do in Union City, whether you’re visiting or looking for a place to call home.
