San Ramon

Welcome to San Ramon

San Ramon is definitely a city on the move with a growing population surrounding the 585-acre Bishop Ranch Business Park. While it is a young city, it has been inhabited for nearly 200 years as a village, a small town, and now a full-fledged city since its incorporation in 1983.

San Ramon citizens took over their destiny and promptly created police, parks, a library, community center, and other services as a sustaining metropolis. As the leaders like to say, San Ramon looks to the future and values its past. More than 20,000 office workers are employed here, and another 16,000 jobs are anticipated over the next 15 years.

Though its roots were primarily agricultural, San Ramon has become a leading center of industry with major employers such as Chevron, AT&T, and the Global Software Center of GE setting up shop. City movers and shakers are committed to improving and maintaining the quality of life for which San Ramon has become noted as one of Contra Costa County’s most progressive cities.
