Welcome to Pleasanton

Pleasanton is one of the wealthiest mid-size cities in the country, according to the U.S. Census, and has been listed in both Money Magazine and 24/7 Wall Street as one of the top 50 cities in which to live in America. Located at the confluence of I-580 and I-680, it is fairly close to San Jose (about 30 miles) and San Francisco (approximately 60 miles).

Pleasanton is a pleasant blend of rich history and contemporary growth thanks to its proximity to Silicon Valley and the Bay Area. Its school system is ranked in the Top 10 in California, and it’s home to a highly educated workforce. From the historic downtown to the upscale Stoneridge Mall, the shopping, dining, entertainment, and cultural opportunities are plentiful.

With more than 4,000 companies located here, from Fortune 500 firms to smaller local companies, the business community is alive and well in Pleasanton. In 1994, the city celebrated its centennial anniversary and its exceptional progress to the vibrant city it has become.

The local Newcomers’ Club offers many opportunities to celebrate the diversity and blending of the long-time residents with those new to the Tri-Valley area. The club is operated by volunteers solely to enrich the lives of those who choose to live and thrive in Pleasanton.
