Welcome to Fremont

Fremont is the fourth-largest city in the Bay Area, and its proximity to Silicon Valley makes it highly desirable for both home and business. Served by Interstates 680 and 800, the Altamont Corridor Express, Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor, and BART, Fremont offers easy access to three international airports (San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland) as well as the Port of Oakland. Planes, trains, and automobiles!

Schools are highly ranked, and there’s an abundance of recreational venues such as Lake Elizabeth, Central Park, and Mission San Jose (California’s 14th Mission).

First settled in the late 1700s, the area was mapped in the mid-1800s by John Fremont, the City’s namesake, who charted access to southeastern San Francisco. The city was formally incorporated in 1956 and brought together five townships – Mission San Jose, Centerville, Niles, Irvington, and Warm Springs.

The 1980s mark the beginning of the high-tech boom. The high-tech business population is large, varied, and growing, and Fremont boasts a superior workforce with its diverse ethnicity and cultural population.

Fremont is a thriving community and a wonderful place to live, work, and play.
