Welcome to Danville

Danville is located midway between Walnut Creek and Pleasanton on the I-680 corridor. Its self-proclaimed slogan is “Small town atmosphere. Outstanding quality of life.” And in fact, Danville is one of the few incorporated municipalities in California that refers to itself as a “town” rather than “city.” The sense of community is further reflected in the many community-minded activities that occur throughout the year, from farmers markets to street festivals; there’s always something to celebrate here. Schools are highly ranked, outdoor activities are key and the quaint downtown has an appeal all its own.

One of the town’s main attractions is the Blackhawk Museum, a spectacular collection of historic and classic luxury cars located in the Blackhawk Plaza. The San Ramon Valley Museum is located in a former railroad station in the downtown area, and while its focus is primarily on the railroad, there are rotating exhibits as well as permanent displays to delight the frequent visitor.

The Iron Horse Trail runs from Concord to Pleasanton and passes through Danville. The 32-mile trail follows the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way dating back to 1891. The trail is an important recreational component of the East Bay Parks, connecting residential, commercial, business and public transit facilities.

Danville is an upscale community with a touch of class and a touch of the past in just the right proportions.
