Brentwood

Welcome to Brentwood

Brentwood is located 55 miles east of San Francisco on the eastern edge of Contra Costa County. The city is growing rapidly, but still maintains its hometown atmosphere in the downtown area. A burgeoning destination shopping area has developed on its west side, most notably the Streets of Brentwood, with a large selection of high-end shops.

Brentwood is well known for its agricultural roots and is home to many orchards and farms offering a variety of fresh produce, particularly corn and cherries. During the summer months, the so-called “you-pick” farms are crowded with customers looking for vine-ripened fruits and vegetables.

Incorporated in 1948, Brentwood’s residential growth was relatively slow until more recent years. The population has exploded over the past 15 years, creating more schools, parks, and development. It is a city on the move with definite ties to its colorful heritage.
