Alamo

Welcome to Alamo

Alamo is a small, unincorporated town straddling the I-680 corridor about halfway between Walnut Creek and Danville. Primarily a residential community, Alamo is served by the County Sheriff’s Department, while emergency and fire services are provided by the City of San Ramon. The affluent neighborhood is one of the wealthiest in the country, and residents are surely happy with this arrangement as attempts to incorporate the town have thus far been unsuccessful.

The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce was created to serve the communities of Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, and, initially, San Ramon (which now has its own Chamber). The towns cooperate and collaborate for the greater good.

Nestled at the western base of Mt. Diablo, Alamo is a step removed from the urban commotion, although San Francisco is just 28 miles west. The Las Trampas Regional Wilderness, to the west of the town, is a 5,342-acre park with rustic and rugged trails for the serious hiker.

Shopping, dining, and entertainment are all just minutes away in Walnut Creek and Danville, while residents here can enjoy an upscale and quiet lifestyle.
