Discovery Bay

Welcome to Discovery Bay

Discovery Bay is an upscale planned community about 60 miles from San Francisco and attractively positioned in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. The town’s motto is “Live Where You Play,” and Discovery Bay certainly measures up to that description. Many homes have private docks with direct access to the Delta. Boaters can navigate from home to San Francisco via waterways.

Originally established as a resort in 1964, the community has grown to over 14,000 year-round residents who enjoy small-town living in a vacation setting. In addition to the miles of waterways, the Discovery Bay Country Club offers a championship golf course designed by Ted Robinson, and several parks provide additional activities.

Over the years, the growth of Discovery Bay has included fire stations, schools, a marina, and a Community Services District to oversee its infrastructure. Residents are actively involved in planning and maintaining the amenities. Discovery Bay features two shopping centers, restaurants, banks, professional services, salons, and a variety of small local businesses. Additionally, numerous retail stores and services are available in nearby Brentwood. It’s just far enough from things to have a country feeling, especially with access to the plentiful bounty of farmland produce.

It really is a great place to live where you play.
