Bill’s greatest joy is his family. He and his husband of 25 years are empty nesters and their daughter is off to become an aerospace engineer (yes, she’s going to be a “rocket scientist”) after graduating from Ruth Asawa School of the Arts.
No one who knows Bill doubts that his own background as an artist (graduate of the famed Ringling School of Art and Design) inspired his daughter to pursue art as a stepping stone to her dream of designing exquisite spacecraft. And his artist-honed skills of precision and meticulous attention to detail have rubbed off on her and helped prepare her for her chosen career.
Bill’s clients also love his creative energy and the fact that no “t” will go uncrossed and no “i” will go un-dotted. Speaking of clients, a couple buying their first home put their trust in Bill and literally ended up buying their house just around the corner from his in one of San Francisco’s most charming neighborhoods, Glen Park. That couple babysat for Bill when he and his husband adopted their daughter and then, when they had a child, Bill and his husband babysat for them. Being a great place to build new relationships is one of the many features of Glen Park along with Glen Canyon, one of the City’s finest parks (also the site of the first dynamite factory in the US, which blew up in the 1860s), a fantastic library, family-run shops and restaurants and Bird and Beckett—bookstore by day, jazz venue in the evening.
Bill knows that San Francisco’s treasure is its neighborhoods. In his almost 30 years in real estate, Bill has sold homes across the City and his expertise lies in both helping people find the home and neighborhood that fits their needs and in assisting those who are selling to market their home not as just a house, but as part of a lively, vibrant and unique neighborhood in one of the world’s great cities.
As one might gather, building relationships and being part of his community are core values to Bill. He loves to pitch in to help others, whether remodeling homes for those in need as part of “Rebuilding Together”, or volunteering for Project Open Hand for over 2 decades bringing food to those facing food insufficiency, or putting endless hours at his daughter’s schools raising money, volunteering for field trips or helping to organize events to bring the school community together. Bill knows that San Francisco’s secret sauce lies in its social capital, in building relationships through involvement in one’s neighborhood and in participating in the life of one’s community, in short by being fully part of this great City.
