About Woodside

One of the wealthiest communities in the nation, Woodside is committed to keeping the business district small, the residences palatial and the preserved open space plentiful. It was incorporated in 1956 with the intent to limit urbanization....

The scenic hills and flora make this affluent community one of the more picturesque. The rural character is apparent, with open space laced by equestrian trails for the many locals who keep horses. Woodside is also favored by cyclists and is included in the annual Tour of California bicycle race.

The modest business district consists of retail shops, a saloon, a grocer and a few other service-oriented establishments. The Michelin-starred Buck’s of Woodside Restaurant is noted as the site of many VC investment meetings and deals.

Historic buildings are still standing and in use including the First Congregational Church, built in 1893, which now serves as a chapel; and Independence Hall, built in 1884, which has been relocated a few times but now sits next to Town Hall and is used for meetings and events.

As home to many of the Silicon Valley elite, Woodside boasts correspondingly appropriate real estate opportunities. The exclusive community is defined by its dedication to maintain its foundation of controlled growth to preserve its natural beauty.
