About Financial District/Barbary Coast

The Financial District/Barbary Coast is a lively and intense neighborhood with a professional business vibe that is revved up during business hours, but significantly more subdued on late nights and weekends as it rests up again for Monday morning. ...

The eastern border opens up to the Bay where you can find the Ferry Building Marketplace. Famous for their weekend Farmer’s Market, the hall is a unique gathering of small specialty shops selling fresh-baked breads, artisan cheeses, local seafood, wine, gluten-free treats, and local meats. And if you are ready to impress a business associate with lunch or dinner near the office, there are a handful of celebrated destination restaurants, as long as reservations are in place well ahead of time.

Living quarters in this neighborhood consist of high-rise condominiums or apartments; a large amount of them offer luxury amenities at a price that reflects so. Besides being home to one of the most famous downtown business districts in the nation, this neighborhood puts residents and visitors amidst some of the world’s most famed architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid and San Francisco’s tallest building, the Salesforce Tower.

After spending some time in this area, residents and visitors are able to tap into all of its intricacies including hidden rooftop gardens, exclusive green picnic spaces, and some larger shared outdoor areas that are a reminder that the Financial District offers more than just high-rises and business suits.
