More than 50 wineries enjoy this flourishing industry, including Wente Vineyards, famous for its wines, food and entertainment venue attracting big-name celebrities. Located at the easternmost point of the Bay Area, Livermore is the gateway to the Central Valley....

The city has a powerful technology base with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratory. Several golf courses, a community college, a new state-of-the-art performing arts center and a charming downtown area contribute to its major appeal. Shopping, dining and entertainment are all readily accessible.

First settled by William Mendenhall, he named the town after his friend and fellow rancher, Robert Livermore. Signs of these rural roots abound in Livermore’s acclaimed annual rodeo. A blend of ranch town and high-tech metropolis, convenient geography and a mild climate make Livermore a highly sought-after suburban destination.
