Norrell Devohn Casey, an Oakland native has been active in his community since childhood. Having moved around Oakland throughout his youth he attended multiple schools and began learning interpersonal skills, exploring the East Bay, and developing a passion for creating and enjoying new experiences. In his early teenage years, Norrell participated in various social justice and community organizing programs designed to cultivate positive opportunities for urban youth.
After graduating from Oakland Technical High School at 16, Norrell attended Laney College where he took his first Real Estate courses that sparked his interest in being a Realtor. By age 18, Norrell accepted a sales position at Macy's Union Square Flagship Store, where his work ethic and communication skills resulted in him becoming a leading sales representative within his first 30 days of employment.
His passion for real estate was further realized when he accepted a position as an assistant property manager of a 72-unit residential complex. In this position, Norrell became familiar with real estate rental forms, property staging, comparative rental market analyses, and how to balance the concerns and needs of the tenants and landlords.
Next Norrell took his sales, business, and interpersonal experience to AT&T Emeryville where he worked to refine his customer service and sales skills as an RSC. While working at AT&T Norrell had the pleasure of Meeting Willy Garner, MBA & Esq. who inspired Norrell to continue his path on becoming a Realtor.
At 25 Norrell left AT&T to care for two infirmed family members and provide them in-home care. Norrell did not put his aspirations on hold while dedicating multiple years to the wellness and recovery of his loved ones. Instead, he and his sister launched an e-commerce-based shoe business that was spotlighted in multiple national publications. His sales and marketing experience allowed the company's growth in brand awareness while increasing sales. Once his family members no longer needed in-home care, he and his sister sold their company which affords Norrell the opportunity to dedicate his time to pursue his Real Estate career.
